Yell County Man Wins Record-Breaking $5.123 Million LOTTO Jackpot

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

One lucky lottery player has won the largest Arkansas-exclusive jackpot in state history.

A Yell County resident won the $5.123 million jackpot in the Feb. 1 LOTTO drawing with a ticket ordered via Lotto.com. The winning numbers were 1, 6, 7, 19, 27 and 40. The Bonus Number was 14.

The lucky Arkansan claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Feb. 3, the Monday after the drawing.

“What a weekend!” he exclaimed.

As a long-time weekly lottery player, the lucky winner enjoys draw games like Powerball®, Mega Millions® and Natural State Jackpot. However, he never played LOTTO until its already record-breaking jackpot crossed a new threshold.

“When I saw it was over $5 million, I decided to jump in,” the player told lottery officials.

On the day of the drawing, he ordered two Quick Pick tickets from Lotto.com. He recently started ordering his tickets online, but he never expected to receive a call from the retailer announcing that he had won the $5.123 million jackpot.

“It just doesn’t sound right,” he thought.

His wife agreed.

“We thought it was a hoax,” she said. Though her husband had won a few prizes before, the Yell County man had never landed a prize so significant.

The Arkansan remained skeptical until he picked up his ticket from Lotto.com’s retail location Players Cafe in a special red envelope. Then, the reality of the win gradually began to sink in.

So far, the lucky winner has only told his immediate family and a couple of close friends. Now that his win has been confirmed, he and his wife plan to pay off all their debts and set aside some money for retirement.

“We’re going to do this smart,” they said.

“We’re all thrilled for the Yell County resident who won the $5.123 million LOTTO jackpot,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “It’s a momentous day at the lottery when we can award an Arkansan with such a significant jackpot.”

The LOTTO jackpot is now $265,000 for Saturday night’s drawing.

LOTTO is an Arkansas-exclusive draw game designed to give in-state players more chances to win big prizes. Tickets are available at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and through retailer apps from ASL’s Play on the Go partners.

ASL’s Play on the Go partners, like Lotto.com, are licensed Arkansas lottery retailers with in-state locations that also sell tickets online. Visit the Where To Play page on the ASL website to learn more about the Play on the Go options.

“We couldn’t be happier to have achieved this new state and company record,” said Lotto.com Inc. CEO Thomas Metzger. “This is our biggest win as a platform and is what we’re all about – celebrating big wins and helping bring incremental funds to state lotteries.”
