Three Arkansans Win Big Prizes Playing Instant Games; Natural State Jackpot Ticket Worth $55,000 Sold in Little Rock
This week was lucky for three Arkansans who won top prizes on three different instant games.
L. Charles of Magnolia won $200,000 playing Triple Red 777, a $10 instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Feb. 4.
The winning ticket was purchased at Murphy USA 7824, 58 Highway 79 Bypass in Magnolia.
Charles, a frequent lottery player, was running errands with her granddaughter when she bought the winning ticket. Although the Magnolia woman had already purchased a few tickets, her granddaughter encouraged her to try her luck with one more.
“You might as well go and get another one,” Charles’ granddaughter said.
The Magnolia resident followed her advice and selected an eye-catching Triple Red 777 ticket. Fortunately, the decision paid off—her ticket held the game’s $200,000 top prize.
“I had butterflies,” Charles told lottery officials. “I felt it in my stomach.”
She plans to buy a new home with her prize.
Another winner, Paragould resident Jessie R., won $75,000 playing Xtreme Crossword. The $3 winning ticket was sold at 807 Caraway Express LLC, 807 S. Caraway Road in Jonesboro. Jessie claimed his prize on Feb. 3.
Jessie purchased the Xtreme Crossword ticket at his mother’s suggestion and later allowed her to scratch it off. He was unaware of the win until she slid the ticket under his door.
“Hey, you have to look at this,” she said.
Jessie checked the ticket, and to his shock, he discovered that he had landed the game’s $75,000 top prize.
“I kept looking it over and over, thinking, ‘I hope I’m not wrong!’” the winner said.
Jessie plans to buy a house with his winnings.
Aaron D. of Izard County won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 scratch-off game. The winning ticket was sold at Calico Rock Gas N Go, 2100 Highway 56 in Calico Rock. He also claimed his prize on Feb. 3.
Aaron bought the winning ticket after stopping by the convenience store for a drink. A weekly lottery player, the Izard County man usually selects his tickets based on their “vibe.” He spotted the $50,000 Frenzy instant game and bought the ticket based on his intuition.
To his amazement, Aaron’s ticket held the $50,000 top prize.
“I was kind of shaking, honestly,” he told lottery officials.
The Arkansan plans to build an addition to his house with his winnings.
77 top prizes worth $50,000 remain on the $50,000 Frenzy instant game.
A winning Natural State Jackpot ticket worth $55,000 was sold at Murphy Express 8765, 12600 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock. The winning numbers were 5, 6, 13, 30 and 35. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing has reset to $50,000.
