Springdale Woman Claims $350,000 Lottery Prize; Hot Springs Village Man Wins $25,000 LOTTO Prize with Lucky Number
Two Arkansans claimed lottery prizes at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Feb. 23.
Ma C. of Springdale claimed the $350,000 top prize on the $20 $350,000 Riches instant game.
The winning ticket was sold at Circle K #351 on 2808 W. Huntsville Ave. in Springdale.
Ma purchased the winning ticket as part of her daily lottery-playing routine. She prefers to play scratch-off games, typically selecting $10 and $20 tickets or the occasional $3 game. Sticking with her tradition, the woman purchased a $20 $350,000 Riches instant ticket.
While in the gas station, the Springdale woman began scratching off her ticket. Soon enough, she saw that the very first number revealed matched one of the winning numbers listed on the top row.
Ma had won the $350,000 top prize.
“I couldn’t believe it,” Ma shared with lottery officials.
The woman cried when she found out and called her husband to deliver the good news.
This top prize marks Ma’s biggest yet—a massive jump from the $1,000 prizes she had won previously.
Ma intends to purchase a home with her winnings.
One top prize remains for the $350,000 Riches instant game.
Another winner, Lonzo Ford of Hot Springs Village, won a $25,000 prize in the Feb. 21 LOTTO drawing. He claimed his prize the following Friday.
The winning ticket was sold at Good Spirits on 109 Calella Rd. in Hot Springs. The winning numbers were 3, 11, 17, 25, 28 and 31, with the bonus number being 13.
Lonzo, who loves LOTTO and has only missed one drawing since its launch in 2022, purchased the winning ticket at one of his favorite retailers. As part of his winning strategy, he always purchases a ticket with five sets of digits for one drawing, making sure to use the same numbers each time. Most of these sets include his lucky number: 13.
The Hot Springs Village resident was in the process of purchasing another ticket when he was alerted that he’d won a prize.
“I’ve got to be asleep!” Lonzo thought at the time.
Because he matched five out of six winning digits, plus the bonus number of 13, Lonzo’s prize landed at $25,000—his biggest yet.
With his winnings, the Hot Springs resident plans to purchase a new trailer for his clutter removal business.
Because the LOTTO jackpot has not been hit, it rises to $1.129 million for the Wednesday, Feb. 28 drawing. This jackpot is LOTTO’s second highest jackpot since the game launched.
