Springdale Man Claims $1 Million Powerball Prize; LOTTO Jackpot Jumps to $3.582 Million

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

A Springdale man won $1 million in the Sept. 16 Powerball® drawing. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Sept. 19.

The winning ticket was purchased at Casey’s General Store #3414 at 4751 W. Don Tyson Park in Springdale. The winning numbers were 8, 9, 11, 27, and 31. The Powerball number was 17, and the Power Play® multiplier was 5.

The lucky winner purchased the Quick Pick ticket during a routine gas stop. Although he plays lottery games occasionally, he decided to try his luck with some of the spare change from his purchase.

“I said, ‘Yeah, give me a Powerball ticket,’” he shared with lottery officials.

Fortunately for him, the decision paid off. He matched five out of five winning numbers and won a $1 million prize.

The Springdale man discovered his win the morning after the drawing. Shocked, he visited another convenience store to scan his ticket and confirm the good news.

Still in disbelief, the winner is unsure what he will do with his prize.

The LOTTO jackpot jumps to $3.582 million for Wednesday night's drawing. This jackpot marks the game’s first to break $3.5 million.

LOTTO drawings are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9 p.m. Ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. the night of the drawing, and tickets cost $2 per play.

LOTTO tickets can be purchased in person at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers and online. Visit the Where to Play page on the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery website to learn more about buying lottery tickets online.
