Searcy Woman Wins $50,000 with Lucky Lottery Ticket; LOTTO Jackpot Jumps to $1.879 Million for Saturday Night

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

An Arkansan woman recently won big with a lucky instant ticket.

G. Jackson of Searcy won $50,000 playing the $20 $50,000 Blast instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on May 9.

The winning ticket was sold at Exxon on 2936 Main St. in Searcy.

Jackson purchased the winning ticket during a regular gas stop. An infrequent player, Jackson had neither a favorite lottery game nor a favorite retailer. Still, the Searcy woman selected a $50,000 Blast ticket in hopes of winning big.

Unbeknownst to Jackson, every spot on her ticket held one of the winning numbers. The combination of those prizes added up to $50,000, which awarded her the top prize amount.

The Searcy resident scratched the ticket off in her car and quickly discovered her big win.

“Thank you, Jesus,” she thought, her heart filled with relief and gratitude at the life-changing win.

Jackson first shared the news with a close friend, then resolved to pay bills with her prize.

Following Jackson’s win, four top prizes remain on the $50,000 Blast instant game.

The LOTTO jackpot for tomorrow night’s drawing is $1.879 million, making it the second-largest in the game’s history.

LOTTO is a draw game sold exclusively in the state of Arkansas. Launched in September 2022, its goal is to provide local players with better chances of winning big prizes.

Previous winners claimed $2.338 million and $999,000 jackpots.

Drawings occur every Wednesday and Saturday at 9 p.m. To win the jackpot, a player's numbers must match all six of the winning numbers. Alternative prizes are available for winners who match three or more numbers. Once the jackpot is won, it resets at $250,000.

Tickets cost $2 per play. Sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. on draw days.
