LOTTO Jackpot Soars to $1.16 Million; Mabelvale Woman Wins $200,000 Lottery Prize
Lottery luck is in the air as the LOTTO jackpot climbs for tonight’s drawing.
The LOTTO jackpot for tonight is $1.16 million.
Launched in 2022, LOTTO is designed to give in-state lottery players more chances to win bigger prizes. Since the game’s inception, 998 LOTTO winners have claimed prizes of more than $500, culminating in a $10,583,513 payout from the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center.
LOTTO drawings are held at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Six numbers between 1 and 40 are drawn, plus a Bonus Number. To win the jackpot, a LOTTO player must match the first six numbers drawn in any order.
When the jackpot is hit, it resets to $250,000 and increases with each subsequent drawing. If more than one jackpot-winning ticket is sold, the jackpot is split evenly among the winners.
LOTTO tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. on the night of the drawing.
One Arkansas lottery player has already won big this week with an instant ticket. Evelyn G. of Mabelvale won $200,000 playing 777, a $10 instant game, and she claimed her prize on Sept. 22.
The winning ticket was sold at Mercado San Jose, located at 7411 Geyer Springs Road in Little Rock.
Evelyn, who plays twice a week during her grocery trips, says she doesn’t stick to one particular game.
“I usually just pick whatever looks good,” she said.
This time, her choice paid off, in a big way: her ticket held a $200,000 top prize.
“I couldn’t believe it!” Evelyn told lottery officials. “I said, ‘Really?’”
Evelyn has yet to tell anyone about her big win. She hasn’t decided how she’ll use her prize, but she does intend to continue playing lottery games.
Two top prizes worth $200,000 each remain on 777.
