Little Rock Man Wins Big with Ticket Ordered Via Lotto.com; LOTTO Jackpot Rises to $4.426 Million for Wednesday Night Draw
One lucky Arkansas lottery player won a huge prize in Monday night’s Powerball® drawing.
Little Rock resident Owen F. won $100,000 with a Powerball® ticket ordered via Lotto.com for the Dec. 2 drawing. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Dec. 3.
“We are pleased to work with Lotto.com and other retailers to offer the Play on the Go option to purchase tickets through retailer apps,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “Partnerships with these retailers provide a convenient experience for players like Owen to win big.”
“The Arkansas Lottery has been a fast growing partner of Lotto.com for the last two years, and we are proud to bring incremental players, funds for education and now big winners to the Natural State,” added Thomas Metzger, CEO of Lotto.com.
The winning numbers were 3, 9, 26, 61 and 67. The Powerball number was 13, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2.
Owen ordered his Quick Pick ticket on the Lotto.com app for convenience, letting the computer generate his numbers for two plays. The morning after the drawing, Lotto.com called him to tell him to check his email—he had won a lottery prize.
“Maybe I won $1 or something,” Owen thought.
The Little Rock resident soon learned his prize was much more than a single dollar.
Owen matched four out of five winning numbers and the Powerball number to win $50,000. Because he purchased his ticket with the Power Play multiplier for an additional $1, his winnings doubled to $100,000. Owen is one of five players nationwide to land the $100,000 prize.
“I was at work about to cry,” Owen told lottery officials.
The lucky winner has shared the good news with his sister and coworker. He plans to pay off some bills with his winnings.
The Powerball jackpot is $240 million for tonight’s drawing.
Also drawing tonight, the LOTTO jackpot is $4.426 million.
LOTTO tickets cost $2 per play, and ticket sales cut off at 8:59 p.m. the night of the drawing.
Lottery tickets can be purchased in person at licensed Arkansas lottery retailers. ASL also offers “Play on the Go” options for players, including Lotto.com.
