July Wraps with Big Wins for Instant Game Players
Three big winners claimed a total of more than $1.5 million in prizes at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Monday, July 29.
An anonymous Clayton, Georgia, resident recently won $1 million playing the $1,000,000 VIP Club instant game.
The winning ticket was sold at G Quick Mart on 2252 Highway 19 N. in Prescott.
The lucky winner purchased the $20 ticket during a trip to the grocery store shortly before he planned to return home. Of course, he took a detour to the ASL Claim Center in Little Rock after winning the $1 million top prize.
“It’s very life-changing,” the winner shared with lottery officials.
Having always dreamed of winning the lottery, the lucky winner feels overjoyed with the $1 million prize. He plans to buy a home and pay bills with his winnings.
Three $1 million top prizes remain in the $1,000,000 VIP Club instant game.
Another winner, M. Monroy of Springdale, won $350,000 with a $20 ticket on the $350,000 Riches instant game. She purchased the winning ticket at Family Mart on 1405 W. Shady Grove in Springdale.
Monroy, a weekly lottery player, decided to buy an instant ticket in hopes of a big win. She selected the $350,000 Riches ticket on a whim, determined not to overthink her purchase. Fortunately for the Springdale woman, her ticket held the $350,000 top prize.
“I’m still in shock,” she said. “Everything has felt so surreal since yesterday.”
Monroy plans to help her parents and return to college with her winnings.
A third winner, Pine Bluff resident Penny H., won the $200,000 top prize on the $10 Triple Cash Payout instant game. She purchased the winning ticket at Ram Food and Fuel Inc., 1802 E. Harding Ave. in Pine Bluff.
The Pine Bluff woman discovered her win while on the phone with a friend.
“Hey, hey, hey, I just won $200,000!” Penny announced, to her friend’s disbelief.
Though the $200,000 prize is her biggest yet, the Pine Bluff woman is no stranger to winning big. She previously claimed a $25,000 prize on another lottery game.
Penny plans to save her winnings.
One $200,000 top prize remains on the Triple Cash Payout instant game.
“It was an exciting Monday at the lottery, with three big winners visiting the claim center in one day,” said Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Executive Director Sharon Strong. “It’s rewarding to know that, through the scholarships funded by lottery ticket sales, Arkansas students and players will both benefit.”
