Jackson County Woman Wins $200,000 with $10 Scratch-Off; North Little Rock Man Claims $30,000 Mega Millions Prize

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Two lucky lottery players claimed big prizes at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center last week.

Heather M., a Jackson County resident, won $200,000 playing the $10 Triple Cash Payout instant game. She claimed her prize on Oct. 18.

The winning ticket was sold at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 10 on 1420 Malcom Ave. in Newport.

Heather was at work when she discovered she had won the instant game’s $200,000 top prize.

“I was shocked,” Heather shared with lottery officials.

The Jackson County resident decided to go to her dad’s house to confirm her win. Also stunned, Heather’s father had to put on his glasses to see the ticket better.

Fortunately, the lucky winner had read her ticket correctly: the very last spot on her ticket awarded her the $200,000 top prize.

With her win confirmed, Heather returned to work and finished her shift before heading to the ASL Claim Center to receive her prize.

The Arkansan plans to pay off her car and potentially buy a new one with her winnings.

A second winner, G. Smith of North Little Rock, won $30,000 in the Oct. 15 Powerball® drawing with a ticket purchased at Circle K, 118 Country Club Road in Sherwood. He also claimed his prize on Oct. 18.

Smith purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket on the Monday before the drawing. The winning numbers were 22, 34, 44, 54, and 62. The Mega Ball® number was 3, and the Megaplier® number was 3.

He matched four out of five winning numbers, plus the Mega Ball number, and won $10,000. Because he purchased his ticket with the Megaplier option, his winnings tripled to $30,000.

The North Little Rock man was one of two winners nationwide to receive the second-tier $30,000 prize.

Smith first shared the good news with his wife. He plans to use his lottery winnings to go on a trip.
