Gift Responsibly: Lottery Tickets Aren’t Child’s Play
With the holidays just around the corner, the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) wants to remind players to gift responsibly.
“Lottery tickets make great gifts, and they are easy to grab during last-minute holiday shopping,” said ASL Executive Director Sharon Strong. “However, we want to remind everyone that lottery tickets are not appropriate for children under the age of 18.”
This year, ASL is participating in the National Council on Problem Gambling’s annual Gift Responsibly Campaign. Research has shown that too-early exposure to gambling can lead to issues later in life. Alongside the council, ASL aims to promote awareness about the risks of underage lottery use.
“At the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery, we want to do our part in encouraging responsible gifting,” Strong said. “Please be mindful as you’re wrapping presents and stuffing stockings: lottery tickets are not child’s play.”
