Gassville Woman Wins $75,000 Lottery Prize with $3 Scratch-Off Ticket
A lucky Gassville resident recently proved she could win big with a $3 instant ticket.
J. Miller won $75,000 playing 10X® Cashword, a $3 instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Aug. 19.
The winning ticket was sold at GJ Gas N Go LLC, located at 728 E. Main St. in Gassville.
For Miller, lottery luck runs in the family. Recently, her mother won $20 on another scratch-off game and gifted her winnings to Miller. While both play the lottery regularly, they have different approaches: Miller prefers lower-priced tickets, but her mother enjoys higher-priced games, in hopes of a bigger payout.
Despite her mom’s skepticism, Miller believed her favorite $3 tickets had potential for massive wins.
“I’m going to show you, Mom!” she thought. “I’m going to win big!”
Using the $20 gift, Miller purchased six 10X Cashword games and scratched them off at home. To her surprise, the last ticket held the eleven words needed to win a $75,000 top prize.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Miller thought. “I mean… me?”
To be sure, she copied each word onto a separate sheet of paper to confirm her win. Still in disbelief, Miller still sought a second opinion from the clerk at her lottery retailer.
“Oh, you won big!” the clerk confirmed.
The lucky winner rushed to share the news with her mother. Unable to reach her, Miller instead sent her brother a photo of the ticket and the word list. Initially skeptical, he later celebrated Miller’s win in the ASL Claim Center.
Miller plans to replace her mom’s roof and build a walk-in shower with her winnings.
