Craighead County Man Claims $100,000 Lottery Prize

Little Rock, Ark.

One lucky Arkansan won their biggest prize yet playing their favorite instant game.

M. Robinson of Craighead County won $100,000 playing Jewel 7s, a $5 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on March 31.

The winning ticket was sold at Kum & Go #395, 2607 Stadium Blvd. in Jonesboro.

Robinson, a daily lottery player, bought the winning ticket last week as part of his usual routine. Although he purchases instant games from several different retailers, the Craighead County man stays loyal to one ticket: Jewel 7s. This time was no different; Robinson purchased the $5 scratch-off game from the Kum & Go, then returned to his car to play.

To his surprise, the very first row on the ticket granted him the game’s $100,000 top prize.

“I started rubbing my eyes to make sure I was looking at it correctly,” Robinson told lottery officials.

He rushed back into the store to check his ticket, and sure enough, the scanner told him to claim his prize at the ASL Claim Center. Excited, Robinson showed the winning ticket to the clerk who initially sold it to him.

“Wow, we’ve never seen that!” the clerk said, stunned. “You need to go to Little Rock.”

The prize was just as astonishing for Robinson as it was for the clerk—previously, his biggest lottery prize was $800.

“I’d won and come to the Claim Center before, but it was nothing like this,” Robinson said.

So far, the Arkansan has yet to tell anyone about his win. However, he does plan to share the good news with a few friends and family members eventually.

The lucky winner plans to pay bills with his prize.

Two top prizes worth $100,000 each remain on Jewel 7s.
