Beebe Couple Claims $480,000 Natural State Jackpot; Conway Man Wins $150,000 Powerball Prize

LITTLE Rock, Ark.

Three Arkansans claimed big prizes at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Sept. 3.

Beebe residents Stephen and Carol E. won $480,000 in the Aug. 28 Natural State Jackpot drawing. The winning Quick Pick ticket was sold at Circle K Store #2709968 on 21 Highway 64 W. in Beebe, and the winning numbers were 5, 9, 11, 16 and 20.

Carol purchased the winning ticket as part of her usual lottery-playing routine. She and her husband, Stephen, were driving when she decided to check her numbers online. Quickly, the Beebe woman realized she had won the $480,000 jackpot.

“I looked at it about five times—I just couldn’t believe it,” Carol shared with lottery officials.

Ecstatic, the couple pulled into a parking lot to celebrate.

Stephen and Carol plan to pay off bills, complete some home projects and travel with their winnings.

The Natural State Jackpot is $80,000 for tonight’s drawing.

Another winner, John R. of Conway, won $150,000 in the Sept. 2 Powerball® drawing.

The winning ticket was purchased at Doublebees #111 on 473 Highway 64 E. in Conway. The winning numbers were 8, 42, 46, 48 and 53, and the Powerball number was 22. The Power Play® multiplier was 3.

John is an occasional lottery player who prefers draw games. Though he enjoys Powerball, the Conway man notes that he only buys tickets with the Power Play option “when the mood strikes.” Such was the case when he purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket.

Lucky for John, he matched four out of five winning numbers, plus the Powerball number, and won $50,000. With the Power Play multiplier, his winnings tripled to $150,000.

“Oh, I was shocked,” John said.

The winner’s surprise is understandable. He was completely unaware of how much he had won until he arrived at the Claim Center. The $150,000 prize far exceeded his original expectation of $1,000, at most.

John plans to donate 10% of his winnings and put the rest in the bank.

The Powerball jackpot is $93 million for tonight’s drawing.
