Batesville Woman Wins $50,000 Prize Playing Instant Game

Little Rock, Ark.

A regular trip to a local gas station landed one Arkansan their biggest prize yet.

Batesville resident Janice M. won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy. She purchased the $20 instant game at Casey’s General Store #3647, 1701 Harrison St. in Batesville and claimed her prize on Feb. 21.

Janice was running errands when she bought the winning lottery ticket. The Batesville woman plays lottery games a few times each week and usually selects $10 and $20 tickets. This time, she sprang for an eye-catching $50,000 Frenzy ticket and scratched it off in her car.

To Janice’s surprise, her ticket held the game’s $50,000 top prize.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Janice told lottery officials. “I thought, ‘Is this real?’”

“She had the store clerk check the ticket to make sure,” Janice’s daughter added.

The Batesville woman was shocked, and for good reason—she had won $5,000 just last year and never expected to land an even bigger prize. Eager to celebrate, Janice first shared the good news with her daughter.

“I thought she was joking—then she showed me the ticket!” Janice’s daughter said. She later accompanied Janice to the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center to collect the prize.

The Batesville resident plans to pay bills with her winnings.

Seventy top prizes worth $50,000 remain on the $50,000 Frenzy instant game.
