Alexander Man Wins $75,000 with $3 Scratch-Off Ticket
One lucky Arkansan recently won big playing his favorite $3 instant game.
Octavio S. of Alexander won $75,000 playing Xtreme Crossword. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Jan. 22.
The winning ticket was purchased at Wa Wa Mart, 7515 Baseline Road in Little Rock.
Octavio, an avid lottery player, loves to relax with crossword-inspired instant games. These scratch-off tickets have previously netted him $500 and $1,000 prizes at most. However, one recent Xtreme Crossword game landed the Alexander man his biggest prize yet.
He scratched his ticket at home and, to his shock, realized that he had matched the 11 words needed to win the game’s $75,000 top prize.
“I think I won big,” Octavio thought. He felt both happiness and disbelief.
The lucky winner shared the good news with his daughter, who echoed his surprise.
“I said, ‘Are you kidding me?’” she told lottery officials. “I still don’t believe it yet. It’s still not real.”
The pair visited the ASL Claim Center the following day to claim his prize.
“I’m just very happy,” Octavio said. He plans to pay off debt with his winnings.
One $75,000 top prize remains on the Xtreme Crossword instant game.
