$80,000 Natural State Jackpot Ticket Sold in Jonesboro; Centerville Man Claims $50,000 Lottery Prize
One lucky Arkansas lottery player hit the jackpot with last night’s Natural State Jackpot (NSJ) drawing.
A winning NSJ ticket worth $80,000 was sold at Murphy USA 8523, 1601 Stadium Blvd. in Jonesboro for the April 13 drawing. The winning numbers were 5, 12, 21, 27 and 33.
This ticket is currently unclaimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
The jackpot for tonight’s NSJ drawing has reset to $50,000.
Another winner, Centerville resident Bob Sharp, won $50,000 playing $50,000 Frenzy, a $20 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on April 14.
The winning ticket was purchased at Centerville Country Store, 21892 Highway 154 in Centerville.
Bob, a daily lottery player, decided to buy the $50,000 Frenzy ticket after a friend of his won $50,000 playing the same game.
“Might as well try it,” Bob thought.
He started scratching his ticket while still in the store. First, he uncovered a “20X” symbol and thought he had only won $20. Then, the Centerville man realized he had won at least $20,000. Stunned, Bob immediately stopped scratching and asked the store clerk to scan his ticket.
“It blew my mind right then,” Bob told lottery officials. “It almost didn’t seem right!”
Still curious, Bob decided to scratch the rest of his ticket. He discovered a second 20X symbol and one $10,000 prize. Altogether, he had won the $50,000 top prize.
Overjoyed, Bob shared the good news with his wife, his boss and others in the store.
“I was so excited everybody knew it,” Bob said.
His elation was more than warranted: his previous largest prize was $500 from other instant games.
“There’s a big difference between $500 and $50,000,” Bob laughed.
The lucky winner looks forward to financial security with his prize.
Fifty-six top prizes worth $50,000 each remain on $50,000 Frenzy.
