$100,000 Won on Instant Ticket Sold in North Little Rock; Clarendon Man Claims $40,000 Mega Millions Prize
Last week ended with big wins for two lucky lottery players.
Stacy Garcia from Memphis, Tennessee, won $100,000 with a $5 ticket on the $6 Million Blowout! instant game. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Friday, July 26.
The winning ticket was purchased at MacArthur Station on 4123 MacArthur Drive in North Little Rock.
While at the gas station, Stacy scratched off her ticket and realized she had won the $100,000 top prize.
“I didn’t believe it,” Stacy said. “I was dumbfounded.”
The winner first shared the good news with her husband, Carlos, who accompanied her to the ASL Claim Center. The win shocked him—Stacy had never won more than $30 or $50 on a lottery ticket prior to this $100,000 prize.
“I look at it as a blessing,” Stacy shared.
Stacy and her husband hope to buy a new home with her winnings.
Two $100,000 top prizes remain on the $6 Million Blowout! instant game.
Another winner, James B. of Clarendon, won $40,000 in the July 23 Mega Millions® drawing. He also claimed his prize on July 26.
The winning ticket was sold at Aclaren Inc., 503 Madison Street in Clarendon. The winning numbers were 3, 9, 14, 26 and 51. The Mega Ball® was 21, and the Megaplier® multiplier was 4.
James discovered his win while drinking coffee the morning after the drawing. He checked the draw results on his laptop and, realizing he had matched four out of five winning numbers, calmly announced the win to his wife.
“You aren’t going to believe this,” James said.
The Clarendon man’s initial prize was $10,000. However, because the multiplier was 4 for the night, his winnings quadrupled to $40,000.
James plans to save his winnings.
The Mega Millions jackpot rises to $331 million for tonight’s drawing.
