Last week, one lucky Arkansan celebrated a life-changing moment by winning a massive top prize on a recently-launched ticket.

A Sheridan resident won $1 million playing the $1,000,000 Jackpot instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Nov. 1.

The lucky winner purchased his $20 ticket at Arch Street Mini Mart, 21209 Arch St., in Little Rock. Though he seldom buys lottery tickets, the Sheridan resident tried his luck with the $1,000,000 Jackpot, which launched on Oct. 29.

He first scratched the barcode instead of the squares and scanned it while still inside the store. He soon realized he had won a large enough prize to warrant a trip to the ASL Claim Center, but the exact prize amount was unknown.

The Sheridan resident returned to scratch the rest of his ticket and, to his amazement, saw that he had won the $1 million top prize.

“You never know how your life can change,” the lucky winner told lottery officials.

The Sheridan man plans to pay for his kids’ studies with his winnings.
