Two Arkansas Lottery Players Win Big with Scratch-Offs; Powerball Ticket Worth $50,000 Sold in Fort Smith
This week brought big wins for three lucky Arkansas lottery players.
A Camden man recently won $1 million with a $20 ticket on the $1,000,000 VIP Club instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery (ASL) Claim Center on Oct. 8.
The winning ticket was purchased at Tobacco Station USA #4 on 100 Garden Oaks Drive SW. in Camden.
The Camden resident purchased the winning ticket while stopping for cigarettes.
“Something just told me to buy tickets,” he shared with lottery officials.
He selected two $1,000,000 VIP Club tickets, recalling the Prescott resident who won $1 million playing the same game earlier this year. A weekly lottery player, the Camden man had high hopes he would be the next big winner.
“There are two more prizes out there—someone has to win,” he told his daughter shortly before buying the ticket.
As luck would have it, the Camden man was indeed the next winner. He scratched his ticket and, to his shock, discovered he had won the $1 million top prize.
“I just went to crying,” he said.
Ecstatic, the lucky winner shared the good news with his wife and daughter, both of whom later accompanied him to the ASL Claim Center.
The Camden resident plans to build his future with his prize. He and his wife plan to see a financial advisor, assist their children and save for retirement.
One $1 million top prize remains on the $1,000,000 VIP Club instant game.
Another winner, Linda C. of McNeil, won $100,000 playing the $5 Mystery Multiplier instant game. She claimed her prize on Oct. 9.
The winning ticket was purchased at Dixie Mart #7287 at 1119 S. Jackson in Magnolia.
Linda, a daily lottery player, purchased the winning ticket during a trip to the store.
“I decided to press my luck,” Linda said.
She selected a Mystery Multiplier ticket, noting that the game had recently become one of her favorites.
The decision quickly paid off: Linda’s ticket held the $100,000 top prize. In disbelief, the McNeil woman turned to her friend and asked her to verify the win.
“Do I see this right?” she asked.
With her win confirmed, Linda also shared the good news with her daughter.
The lucky winner plans to buy a home, purchase a car and help friends and family with her prize.
One $100,000 top prize remains on the Mystery Multiplier instant game.
A winning Powerball® ticket worth $50,000 was sold in Fort Smith for the Oct. 7 drawing. The winning numbers were 18, 30, 31, 52 and 63. The Powerball number was 22, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2.
This ticket is currently unclaimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
