Jacksonville Woman Wins $10,000 Playing Mega Millions; Arkansas Lottery Players Win Big with Weekend Draws

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

Arkansas lottery players won big prizes playing draw games over the weekend.

Debra Walters from Jacksonville won $10,000 in the May 28 Mega Millions® drawing. She claimed her prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on Friday, May 31.

The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger 614 on 103 Gregory Place in Jacksonville. The winning numbers were 12, 18, 48, 57 and 62, and the Mega Ball® number was 4. The Megaplier® was 5.

Debra and her boyfriend purchased the winning Quick Pick ticket to fulfill a promise they made to themselves last year. The pair often told themselves they wanted to win the lottery, but they rarely played.

“If we don’t play, we can’t win,” Debra said.

The pair has since played more frequently, using their smaller prizes to buy new tickets.

Wanting to play while the jackpots were relatively low, Debra purchased a mixed bundle of instant tickets and draw games.

The purchase proved to be the couple’s luckiest yet. Surprisingly, they won $50 and $150 prizes on the scratch-off tickets. The biggest prize, however, came the day after the Mega Millions drawing, when Debra’s boyfriend checked their numbers online.

“I think you just won,” Debra’s boyfriend said over the phone.

“Uh, no, I didn’t,” Debra responded.

She matched four out of five winning numbers, plus the Mega Ball. Though initially disappointed—Debra thought she had matched all five numbers needed to win the jackpot—the Jacksonville resident was still happy about the prize.

“We’re trying to be positive about winning $10,000,” the winner joked.

With their prize, the couple plans to make a few home improvements and take a much-needed vacation.

The Mega Millions jackpot rises to $560 million for tonight’s drawing.

Several winning tickets were recently sold for various draw games this past weekend.

A winning Powerball® ticket worth $50,000 was sold for the June 1 drawing. The ticket was purchased at 2920 Highland Express LLC on 2920 E. Highland Drive in Jonesboro. The winning numbers were 28, 38, 52, 54 and 68. The Powerball number was 8, and the Power Play® was 2.

A winning Mega Millions ticket worth $40,000 was recently sold for the May 31 drawing. The ticket was purchased at Pride One Stop on 3001 Highway 89 South in Cabot. The winning numbers were 4, 11, 23, 33 and 49. The Mega Ball number was 23, and the Megaplier was 4.

A winning LOTTO ticket worth $25,000 was sold via the Jackpocket mobile app for the June 1 drawing. The winning numbers were 16, 17, 25, 34, 35 and 40. The bonus number was 8.

All draw game winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
