Retailer Spotlight - Avoca One Stop

Three years of teamwork and dedication have turned Avoca One Stop, located in Avoca, into a prime stop for Northwest Arkansas lottery players.

Owner Dave Masaria says that before he joined the Avoca One Stop location, lottery games weren’t a top priority. However, with the help of their Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Marketing Sales Representative Ali Mustafa, the retailer has completely transformed. 

Dave notes that the biggest two contributors to their success are meeting customers’ needs and providing quality customer service.

“When a ticket runs out, we immediately restock,” Dave said. In this way, the team ensures that players can always purchase their favorite games.

Regarding customer service, Dave emphasizes the importance of having a knowledgeable team, crediting 75% of their successful sales to the team’s lottery acumen. All team members are trained like managers, and everyone knows how to create a comfortable, pressure-free environment for lottery players.

“We all operate as one team, and no one looks at their job as only a paycheck,” Dave shared.

The team’s dedication has developed a stronger trust between players and the lottery. They now see higher sales and multiple winners, whom they promote on social media. And, of course, the Avoca One Stop location stays busy seven days a week.
